About Expert
Born in 1951, Mr Ashok Tandon graduated as an Electrical Engineer in 1974. After
working as a maintenance engineer for a year, he joined the State Bank of India as a
Probationary Officer in 1975. He spent a good 28 plus years in SBI starting as a credit
officer for SSI and MSME sector to handling large PSU credit needs. He spent a lot of
time in the Credit and Forex related verticals in the bank and held various important
assignments like setting up a Bank in UK to managing MSME credit portfolios both from
the funding and forex side.
In 2013, he parted ways with SBI and joined an automotive component manufacturing
Group established in the NCR as their Corporate Head. During the span of 15 years
with them, he was associated with the setting up a number of Joint Venture Companies.
These were set up with foreign collaborators and he was actively involved in seeking
approvals from DIPP wherever required and then managing the regulatory
issues/reporting’s under FEMA for both inward and outward remittances. The group
soon became a multinational with acquisitions abroad and for that all legal, regulatory
and funding was arranged by the team lead by him. He superannuated in April 2018
and is now freelancing after a long experience both in the banking and manufacturing
sector in India and Overseas.
